The Sound of Music pics!

If you know me well, my very very all time favorite movie is The Sound of Music!  I grew up on this movie and now am passing it on to my girls who love to watch it too!  It has always been a dream, really a dream, of mine to actually visit Salzburg and see the places where this amazing family lived and where the awesome movie was filmed!  It is now checked off of my bucket list!  I can honestly say that this is my favorite city and I can't wait to go back again someday!

The following pictures were taken in Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg, where the Von Trapp children and Maria sing "Do-Re-Mi"

This is the fountain that they walk along and cross paths in front of each other.  ( Yes, I am dancing, but Tyson would only hold my hand and stand there for the picture!)
The archway is where they run through and sing...in the movie it is much more green and full of vines!
My personal favorite part of this song is when they sing at the end and jump up and down these famous steps.  The gate was closed when we were there, but that didn't stop us from singing and dancing up the steps :)
This is the cemetary where the Von Trapp Family hid from the police while trying to escape...the movie was not actually filmed here, but was built on a set after this as to keep the reverence in this cemetary.
 Do these places look familiar?
This is one of the buildings that Maria sings in front of when she first leaves the Abbey to go to the Von Trapp house to be their "Baroness."
Aw, yes, the most romantic parts of the movie took place in this cute little glass pavilion!  You can't go inside of it, but it was still fun to be by it and look  inside and imagine the movie scenes!
The back of the Von Trapp home in the movie...We are standing on the lake...yes, standing...it was frozen solid, so Tyson and I ran out onto the lake to get as close as we could!  You for sure could not get so close during the summer time!  It was beautiful!  We were probably standing a hundred feet from where the boat tips over and dumps the Von Trapp children into the lake!
A self portrait on our 5 year Anniversary in Salzburg Austria!!!

I'm jealous, but I loved seeing the pictures! That was my mom's favorite movie, so we watched it a ton with her when I was little. I haven't had a chance to read all of the details of your trip, but the pictures look incredible. Happy 5 years...where is the time going...didn't we all just graduate from high school? :)
