Hohensalzburg Fortress- Salzburg Austria

This Castle can be seen from just about anywhere in the City.  We decided to take a tour of it and it was very much worth it.
Riding the Gondola up to see the Castle.  Alissa was so excited to go inside a Castle.  It reminded her of all her princesses and where they lived!
A quick view as we rose quickly up the gondola to the top of the hill where the Castle was.
Castle views
The mountains here are INCREDIBLE and just so big!  This is just one of the amazing views seen from atop this Castle.
My personal favorite!  The city of Salzburg!  The architecture and teal roofs really look beautiful against the snowy scene.
We climbed up and down this huge staircase in which Alissa walked it all by herself holding Grandpa's hand.  I wished we had counted the steps because I got dizzy by the end!
If I could have brought this home, I would have.  These paper stars were hanging everywhere in the city and I just loved them.  You could purchase them but I could have never gotten it back to Texas in one piece, so I settled for a picture instead!
Oh those beautiful mountains!
Alissa got a kids version of the guided tour and she enjoyed it for a little bit!
We are the Smith Von Trapp Family!  I can't believe that this picture turned out as good as it did!
Tyson and Kristina on our 5 year wedding anniversary!
Inside the castle was a museum of the puppets famous in this area of Germany and also seen on the Sound of Music.  Alissa enjoyed making her puppet move!
Just a cute and cheesy photo op in the middle of the Castle square.  Hannah fell alseep during the Castle tour in my arms and slept cozily for about an hour.  It felt nice for me to sit down and put my feet up :)
The other half of the Castle.  No royalty ever lived here...it was actually a Castle where the Monks lived.
Mom and Dad, overlooking Salzburg.  They were the best tour guides ever!!!
