We decided to take advantage of the sites around Belgium today. The first city we visited, called Gent, is just a small town northwest of Brussels about 30 minutes by train. It was quiant, beautiful, and full of typical belgian houses smashed together in a row. This city is what I imagine Belgium to be like. We enjoyed walking around the city despite the rain and brisk wind. Also,we walked through many shops, churches, and enjoyed Frites (fries) with mayonniase. This is truly a Belgian specialty and is lekker! (Lekker means "so yummy" in Dutch.) Dutch Mayo is way different than our Mayo in America. It is kind of admired like the fry sauce at home. We loved Gent and was well worth the time we spent there.
