We finally left Texas!!! After a few days of stomach bug that got the girls sick and then a lovely $1000 car repair, we finally left on our drive to Utah! Mom flew down to drive with me so Tyson wouldn't have to take off an extra day of work!
The girls were AWESOME on this 24 hour drive- yup, 2 days! They were so so patient, and very happy (most of the time,) and enjoyed the fun time in the car! Mainly, they were just excited to get to Utah! In fact, after literally being in the car for 2 minutes, Alissa asked "Are we there yet?" My Mom and I looked at each other and just laughed...oh boy!!!
We colored, read books, played with busy bags, played with magnet dolls, watched movies, sang primary songs, and opened presents! It was a lifesaver to have wrapped presents to open every few hours...that seriously was the best thing ever! The girls LOVED it and would do anything to open another present, including acting so good!
It was so fun to be with My Mom in the car and just to be able to chat and hang out again! I even got to "interview" her about different times in her life that I haven't ever really known about her and my Dad. Including their early marriage and grad school, her wedding and honeymoon travels, and some of her childhood memories with her Mom. It was a special time for me and I will always remember this car ride with my Mom!
This was our first stop when we entered Utah's border! The girls didn't understand that we still had 8 hours to go :)

Towards the end of the road trip, Lydia was getting pretty stir crazy, so I set her up a Baby Einstein movie and she LOVED it...even fell asleep watching it!
