Boleslawiec, Poland

From Dresden, the border of Poland is only about an hour and a half away, so we decided to drive to this little town that is known for the famous blue and white polish pottery.  It is very expensive to buy in the States, but cheap here in Poland, so we wanted to check it out.  Here is the town sign...notice the letters are a bit different.
It was weird not even being able to pronounce these words...
So I am my Mother's Daughter, and LOVE dishes!  My Mom and I had a fun time admiring and awing over these beautiful pieces of serving pottery.  Even Tyson and my Dad enjoyed seeing so many different and beautiful types of hand painted plates.  Yes, I did buy some (my only European souvenier) and we will hand carry them on the plane with us back to Texas!  I am so excited to use them.  We bought the girls a special piggy bank made out of polish pottery here!  Alissa can't wait to start putting her "monies" in it!
This is the little shop that I bought a few of our polish pottery items from.  The lady that owned it did not speak a word of English and it was very fun and interesting trying to communicate with her.  However, she was the sweetest lady and couldn't get enough of our little girls!  She gave Alissa a special butterfly ring and Alissa wore it so proudly from the "nice Poland lady."
The houses in Poland were very different than in America and it was humbling to see how these people live and what we have in America that they don't.

Oh, man, you can't tell me you bought some dishes--that you HAND CARRIED home on the plan--and NOT post pictures of them. You're killing me!

I'm so glad you were able to take this once in a lifetime trip! Good timing on your parents' part.
