Rothenburg ob der Tauber

We drove about 2 hours southeast of Frankfurt to a beautiful little city called Rothenburg, (pronounced Row-tin-burg) to visit their Christmas Market.  Germany really knows how to do Christmas and we are so lucky to be here and take part in all these Christmas festivals!
Our little snow bunny!   We aren't used to bundling but the girls didn't mind and they sure kept warm.  They each had four layers of clothes on!!
 Grandpa and Hannah
A view of Rothenburg's town wall and gate and streets.  We are bundled to keep warm!
Walking toward the Rothenburg Christmas Market.  I love these little German streets!
Alissa sat in the stroller because the snowy streets were hard to walk on for long periods of time.  She eventually fell asleep but enjoyed the view of the festivities from the stroller.
Mom and Dad in front of the crooked house in Rothenburg.  A member of the Church lived here many many years ago and my Granddad took my parents here many many years ago, so it was fun to visit.
These are the famous treat in Rothenburg called Schneeballen.  They are basically rolled up pie crusts covered in all sorts of different things.  We tried the powdered sugar one (which wasn't anything special,) but then Alissa wanted one with sprinkles and that one was rolled in marzapan and it was so yummy!
Rothenburg Ob der Tauber Town Hall and Sqaure.  The Christmas market is right behind me.  This was such a romantic place.
The inside of the Kate Wohlfarte Christmas shop.  It was a Christmas wonderland and so pretty.  The girls were mesmorized by all the lights, colors, and ornaments!
This is inside the Kate Wohlfahrte Christmas shop.  These are famous Christmas ornaments and it took me FOREVER to pick just one for our tree!!  They were all so cute and beautiful!

The longest Bratwurst we have ever seen!
Hannah loved the bratwurst and ate probably a quarter of it!
Despite the temperatures, the girls stayed warm and I was so relieved.  It was about 20 degrees while we walked through the market for a few hours.  I love Hannah's little red cheeks all squished in her snow suit!

I loved Rothenburg...and I think I bought about 5 ornaments! It was fun to put them on our tree this first time.

you are smart to be blogging as you go over there! It is crazy to see the same streets, covered in snow now, that we walked on over the summer.

Fun to read all about it, I love the picture of Hannah with that brat hanging out of her mouth. Too cute...
