Has it really been a year since I had the most incredible physical experience of my life? Has it really been a year since I met the most beautiful new addition in my life? Has it really been a year since Tyson and I embarked on the most rewarding, yet unbelievable task that we have been blessed with?
As Tyson and I kissed Alissa goodnight in her crib at the stroke of midnight and whispered a soft "Happy Birthday," I couldn't help but look at her soft face in amazement. Tears immediately came to my eyes as I thought of this past year of her life, from the moment when she cried for the first time, to now, watching her lay so peacefully and beautifully asleep. No wonder parents LOVE their children so much! To watch something that your love created, grow from a tiny 6 pound bundle of warmth, to a vibrant 20 pound bundle of energy is quite amazing!
Alissa has been such a blessing to our family and her personality grows each day. Watching her makes me look at life with a whole new perspective and with a happier outlook. She has taught us to laugh all over again, to appreciate our parents more, and to love like we never thought was possible. I am so proud to be a mother, especially her mother and can't wait to watch her grow and mature into a beautiful little girl...if only she would stop there! I love you Alissa and can't wait for another year of wonder and amazement as I watch you learn about the world around you! Happy Birthday my sweet little Alissa!

I can't believe she is ONE already!!! wow that went by fast. I love the picture of you three. You can definitely tell that Becca and Alissa are cousins - it's the cute nose I think. I hope that you are enjoying her and that she enjoyed her first birthday party.
I can't believe a year has gone by already! Happy Birthday, Alissa!! I love you!! :) Kristina, you should post those cute pictures of her and her cake!
Happy Birthday! It's amazing how fast time goes by. We really need to get together soon. We are in the middle of basketball right now, but hopefully when it is finished we can come and see you guys! We need a Pappasito's trip to celebrate the birthday girl's
1st birthday!!!
Oh Kristina, it makes me cry reading this (for a couple different reasons). Enjoy it! Babies are just the best, but I say that about every single stage/age my kids are in.
Very cute picture of you 3.
She looks so much like Tyson in this picture! So adorable!
Congrats + happy day to the little birthday girl!
Happy Birthday Alissa!! We hope you had a great day!! Can't wait to see pics of the party!
Happy birthday to your little Alissa! Time flies!
This pic belongs in a frame...LOVE IT...sometimes I think the first b-day is more of a milestone for the parents than anything...what a journey that first year is...a joyous journey...with a few sleepless nights! :) We love Alissa!
such a sweet tribute! With parents like you guys, she really does have amazing potential.
I didn't realize it would be like this for me, but EVERY year on their birthday, I think of the exciting events surrounding their arrival. I'm trying to put together some thoughts about Zach, now that he is five. There are almost too many memories and precious moments to hold in this little heart of mine. :o) Keep taking notes on the fun of parenthood!
Ok- tears! I am not a crier- you know that, and yes- I have tears! That was the sweetest post- and it is so incredible how our little ones change us! Happy Birthday Alissa!
